Send a password reset code by email

You must set up an SMTP server. SFTPGo will send a code via email to reset the password if the specified admin exists, has a valid email address and is allowed to reset the password. Requests that do not meet these conditions are silently ignored (a success response will be returned) to avoid disclosing existing admins

  • IdempotentThe SDK sends Idempotency-Key, so a retried request is only applied once.

Error handling

A 400 is returned: Bad Request. A 401 is returned: Unauthorized. A 403 is returned: Forbidden. A 404 is returned: Not Found. A 500 is returned: Internal Server Error. Any other status is an error: Unexpected Error.
